More about 4870
  1. A good 500 - 550 watt PSU will work nicely.

    I'm using a Corsair 550VX (41 amp 12 volt rail)

    in my Q6600/4870 build.

    A 4870 needs about 11 - 12 amps and 2 PCIe power connectors.
  2. If you want to save some money, this one will work too.

  3. is this one ok ???

there is another one from fsp that have two 12V rails : one with 16 and the other with 18 A
is any of those ok for my PC :
    HD 4870
AMD phenom II X4 965 BE
GIGABYTE GA-790XT-USB3 AM3 AMD 790X USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard
  4. Here is another good deal at the moment $45 after MIR http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817341022
  5. i can't buy it here ( i'm outside USA) so can these two that i mention before be any good
  6. The Thermaltake you linked to has passive PFC (little red voltage switch). If the FSP has active PFC (no voltage switch) it would be better. Both should be powerful enough to run your card
  7. I'm running my HD4870 and Core2Duo E8400 with a 485watts PSU. and I never had any problems.
