Does anybody know how to properly install Thief: Dark Project under Windows
XP? The intro does good and then black-out.Thanks.

That may not be the problem.

The black screen also hints at the so-called 'safe texture manager' issue.
You may get an error message that says something to the effect of "Direct 3D
device does not accurately report texture memory usage". The solution to
that can be found in the Thief FAQ. Linky:

different solution to the problem for TDP and TMA. The TDP solution
requires a patch. Check out the FAQ, an all will become clear ;)
