Thumbnails on a NAS

So I have a NAS and when I open folders that have a lot of images in them a lot of the time only half or less will display the thumbnail and the rest will display a crappy icon which is the Irfanview icon since that is my default.


Why don't they all load up as icons. Now I have the folder options set to always show Thumbnails and Never icons but it still keeps happening to some of them.

I am thinking that it might have something to do with a memory limit option somewhere but am not to sure.

Hello squareenixx;

Does Irfanview cache the thumbnail view or create them on the fly?
If you can move the cache off the NAS to a local drive on a high performance system you could speed up view loading quite a bit.
