APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE:Hopefully in the next 2 weeks. BUDGET RANGE: 1500- 2000 Before Rebates

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT:Gaming, Surfing, Movie watching

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: Monitor.

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: Newegg.com

PARTS PREFERENCES: Always been and amd person. This would be my first intel build. Also would be my first radeon card. Besides that, im open to whatever.

OVERCLOCKING: Yes SLI OR CROSSFIRE: Yes , in future if needed

MONITOR RESOLUTION:1680x1050 (Dell e228wfp lcd monitor)

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: While gaming or doing other things, i tend to have 3-5 explorer windows up, itunes running, and usually 2-3 ims going from messengers.

I have a wireless mouse and keyboard atm, but thinking of new and have no idea what would be good.

Oh for gaming, wireless is a bad idea. If you want a gaming keyboard and mouse look into saitek eclipse and mx518.

Seems the 5870 is out of stock at newegg, if by chance its not back in by the time i do this, is there a back up card you guys would recommend?

scratch that, The HIS model is out of stock. Would you guys recommend ASUS or XFX of the same card?

The XFXs are known for their reliability and great warranties. I would go for that one.
