The cable that connects the pc and ups is lose and sometimes a quick power off on happens. My earlier motherboard ASUS TUV4X had a bios option called AC Power loss Restart and it was set to disabled so in such a situation it would not turn on.

The motherboard that i use now does not have this feature.
Do motherboards that come today come with this option ?

Well i found that my motherboard has a option called AC Back Function -> set to soft off

But still it turns on after a slight interruption in power ? What can i do to prevent this ?

Try updating the BIOS to the latest version, also consider buying some proper surge protetion ( No-break, battery backup), sudden shutdowns damage your PC in the long run, specially the HDDs
