No. I have a DX6440, which is a bit later than the 4530, and it uses AA
batteries. However, the DX7440 goes to Lithium Ion batteries. Sigh.

No, there are newer cameras that still use the NiMH batteries which do a
great job. Is there are concern for your camera? Glad to help with any
issues you might have.
