I'm assuming by 'ADX440' you actually mean 'ADX440WFGIBOX' which is actually the AMD Athlon II X3 440 processor, and by AD5000, you mean 'AD5000ODGIBOX', the AMD Athlon X2 5000+. If so, the AMD Athlon II X4 440 processor is faster, as it has a higher clock speed of 3.0 GHz, compared to the Athlon X2 5000+'s 2.2 GHz, and it has more cache as well. Besides, Athlon II is much faster than the original AM2/AM2+ Athlon generation.
