You can replace the power supply, end of story. If you have a PCI-e x16 slot you can install HD4670 or HD5570 with out changing the PSU, maybe even HD5670. These are all low power cards that do not need external connection directly from the PSU but get their power from the slot.

i was also told i cant fit a large card in there , are your sure one of the HD will fit?

If someone ever tells you a better PSU will fry your motherboard ask to speak to someone who actually has a clue, or better yet ask for their supervisor and let them know that the person either isn't qualified for their job or is lying to costumers.
The suggestion of 2 PCIEx1 cards instead is almost outlandishly bad advice BTW.

the 5670 is far too slow to use 1GB of RAM and both 2.0 & 2.1 will work in your PC. Get the card that offers you the best value, be it price, better cooler, free game, better warranty, prettier colors, etc.,

Well you expect that kind of thing from Best Buy but that some HP confirmed it then suggested 2 PCIEx1 cards instead is just mind boggling.

my brother had a Dell laptop (bran new) and could not get it connected to the internet. So he called up Dell and they had him re-install Win XP. It still failed to connect, they asked him to do it again. When I finally came over after work, I walked up to his modem, power cycled it, waited 20 seconds and his laptop was good to go.

HD5670 is the best performer but takes the most power. HD5570 takes the least power from the PSU and has a slight performance edge over HD4670.
They are all benchmarked in this review performance and power consumption. http://www.tomshardware.com/review [...] ,2552.html
