Hello Friends,
I want to buy a Desktop for my 7 year old nephew. He would like to use it for school work but more for gaming. Is the following configuration good or should I upgrade any of the features e.g. Display card, Monitor, Processor etc.

Dell™ Inspiron Desktop 560s (S241208IN8)
Intel(R) Core2 Duo E7500 (2.93GHz, 1066MHz, 3MB)
Genuine Windows(R) 7 Home Basic 64bit (English)
3GB (3X1GB) DDR3 SDRAM Memory(SYSTEM MEMORY will only perform at 1066MHz due to chipset limitation)
320GB SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive with Native Command Queuing
Dell(TM) IN1910N 18.5" Widescreen Flat Panel Monitor
512MB ATI(R) Radeon(TM) HD 4350
16x DVD+/-RW Drive

It's OK, but it'd be better if you instead got 2x2GB, and if your son would like to do any serious gaming, that HD 4350 would be too weak for most games.

Why not build one instead? :)

HD4350 is enough for a 7 years old kid.
As I have said if several threads before..
No first person shooting, no gores, no blood, no violent are allowed for underaged kids.
No serious gaming also allowed to prevent addiction..
Not untill the kid is mentally mature enough.

+1 for build one yourself.
