A good 2.1 sound system

Hi all!
In some days i will buy my new pc, but i have a lot of doubts about the sound system.
I will buy a Asus P6X58D-E, and i will use it to some games, some music... a normal use. The reason to buy a 2.1 instead a 5.1 is that i will install it in a desktop and i think that i cant give enough space between each speaker to listen them ok, i'm right?
Cause that i'm thinking to buy a good of quality and price speakers (about 50-80€), wich would you choose?
My another question is... must i buy a sound card or the integrated one is enoughly good?

I prefer either altec-lansing or logitech. There are many in your price range. for a compact speaker system that has a separate bass speaker. They definitely will fill your room with sound.
