How to diagnose computer crash

Hello,
I have an HP laptop. It has been randomly locking up for weeks now. It now will boot completly then lock up couple minutes later. The wifi also stops working randomly. I troubleshoot it and sometimes it starts working again. But now the crashes are all the time now. Where should I start?

Check for corrupt system files:

system file checker - sfc scannow from command prompt (admin)

System restore to date prior to problem, if you have a date that far back

Repair install from Win CD

Run chkdsk /r on your hard drive and/or msg diagnostics

You can also run memtest86+ from a floppy, CD or flash drive to check the RAM/memory.
