Mouse issue

on my desktop,after I put in my password,a firmware update comes up,and after I click "yes" to allow updates my mouse speed goes to a crawl.An advice.I have been un plugging the mouse and re plugging it back in but it is only at about half the speed.I checked the drivers to make sure that the latest were updated.I am stumped.

Disable that update notification and check.. If it pops up every time then it must be in sartup.. You can access it from msconfig..
