hello everybody, i was reading an article on toms about some Cooler Master USP 100 case, and newegg didnt have it, so i went to CM. there, i found this:

http://www.coolermaster.com/product.php?product_id=6638...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

now, ive heard of and seen the CM 690 II, and its always been more in the 100$ range, but then theres that! thats looks like an amazing case to me. anybody have any experience with it? i was also wondering how it compares to cases like the antec 300 illusion, haf 922, TT v9, and other cases in or around its price range, and if it one of the best or better budget cases. it also has some good combos with decent psus like these:

thanks for any help or info! :)

I have a CM 690II basic which has a few less features, identical otherwise.
I've built an Antec 300 which is good but the CM 690II's are a step-up imo.
As far as i'm concerned CM has no competition in the market against the two new 690II's pricing.
They are very nice to work in.
More room, fan mounts and filters, great cable management.Nice clean look too.

I've seen the Basic for $60 online a few times even at $80 it's worth every penny.

so you would say it is better than the 300? how much so? one important thing is cooling, do you think it cools better, and cools quieter?

It's bigger and wider.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Productcompare.aspx?Submi...
Plus when comparing it with the regular 300 you would ideally add a 3rd fan to either unit, since both only come with 2.
The 300 Illusion is very nice with the extra fans but was a better deal a couple of days ago $69.99 free shipping.
Both the 300 and CM 690II have very good airflow.
Quiet comes down to fan choice.
Antec TriCools are fairly quiet on low setting i know i have a 902 with 5 TriCools.
Cooler Master R-4's are quality fans too.
I own an Antec 902 and a CM 690II Basic.
I obviously bought a 690II instead of a 300 for a reason.

while the CM690II is a very nice case and davcon makes excellent points about it; shouldn't it be compared against the antec 600 rather then the 300?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

i think the CM centurion is more of a competitive product against the 300.

BTW, can CM make any more cases below $60???

   that 600 looks like spider man went to town on that thing! and yeah, but the 300 illusion and 600 are equally distant priced from the CM690II last time i checked:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

heres a better looking version of the 600, but it also costs 20 bucks more:

so overall, 690II vs 300 illusion vs 600, whats the best buy?

Ha ha ! you're right about the under $60.
Ahh! the 600 wow what an ugly case.
I'll compare it with the 690II beauty and the beast!

well, mir doesnt really count, but u can get the haf 922, the v9, and a few other good ones for the same, or just 10$ more. but i dont mind the look of the cm690II.

FYI, i have the 300 and it runs cool and silent. I have two fans up front like pictured in the illusion along with the two in the back.

yeah, i knew the 300 was good, but this cm looks like a challenger to it as far as budget goes.

I bought the 690II and spent $6 for a CM R-4 120mm blue led and installed it on top for exhaust.
If you wanted to dress it up in the future the 690II has an available windowed side panel for $20-30 depending where you order from.
Like i said before i've built a 300 rig and a 690II the CM is nicer no question in my mind.
I don't think you are making a bad decision if you go 300 Illusion or 690II Basic.
Both are very good. The 300 Illusion offers more fans that are pretty quiet on low setting.
The Basic offers more room and some tool less features and psu venting/filter.
Cases are really a personal choice.

can't go wrong with either one. i was looking at the CM690 II also but liked the simpler look of the 300.

the illusion 300 is great i know. however the cm seems to have more features, and a better interior. i dont mind the look of the 300, its a bit flashy and boxy, but so are a lot of cases. but the cm is bigger too. also, the one im talking about is the black basic version, so i dont think it has an led fan on the front:

The CM has a front blue led which can be turned off.

although rosewill is a hit and miss, atleast they used to be. you either get a good product at a great cost, or a horrid product at a great cost.

rosewill cases are ok but they are just re-badged cases (like most rosewill products). the blackbone is actually made by Apex (vortex 3620 case) as is/are 1-2 of the other(s) you linked. i can tell by the crappy fans they have inside "Mr. Cube". they also have flimsy side panels.

several people here own the destroyer and have said good things about it. they do look good though.

yeah, of all of them, the destroyer seems like the best value. and i know it usually does nothing, or makes things worse, but painting the inside of the case black makes it 10x better looking imo, even though u likely wont see it.

I agree i don't mind the look of them but since i've never seen one personally can't comment about quality.
I hate flimsy side panels.
With the exception of one of those cases they are all less then 8" wide.
A cause for concern when selecting an aftermarket cooler since most are 158mm and 160mm being the majority of higher quality HSF.
