battery drain, weight increase

Another disadvantage is that if you use projectors for presentations, a lot
of the older models will give less than desirable results. You'll have to
change your laptop to a non-native resolution and will probably lose some
sharpness and/or get a funny aspect ratio.

In short: more room for applications, supported by lots of games, and
generally more adapted to the human view area. For DVD there isn't a real
advantage since almost no movies use the 16:10 format..

If You get used to widescreen You never will miss it again. The additional
room You have (i.e. for Toolbars etc) and the ability to display two pages
at once is great for most applications.

Here, you'll usually have to go with the 1920xblah resolution display
upgrades to properly display two high-res full screen windows
side-by-side (or 4 800x600 screens at once on the same display).

Better question, how many times in a week will this question be posed?

More columns if, like me, you work with spreadsheets. It can also
be easier to work in two applications at once, side-by-side rather
than alt-tabbing between them.
