I need help deciding between i7-930, i5-750, or 955be. This build is for gaming, work, and media. I have about 2.5k budget to spend on everything, but I really want to spend no more than 2k and less than that if possible. Here are the parts I will use in the build.

PSU

GPU- 5870 whichever one is available at the time

CPU cooler- is this a good one ?

and probalby a cheap dvd or bluray player dont know yet. anyone recommend a good/cheap bluray player?

I will buy a 1080p monitor at a local electronics store

If i add the i7-930, p6x58 mobo, and 7cas 6gb ram the total is about 1.8-9k without monitor ( I am leaning towards the i7-930)

What cpu/mobo would you guys buy? The programs that i use are pretty much microsoft office word, excel, and access. I am not one to upgrade components; at most I will throw in another 5870 in the future, so mobo must support xfire.

Great build Jack but I disagree with the CPU choice. There is no reason to get more than an i5 750! Switch out the CPU, MOBO & RAM for...
Intel Core i5 750
ASUS P7P55-E Pro
G.SKILL RIPJAWS 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 1600 Cas7 (the blue ones :)  )

+1, i5 750 would be a better choice here IMO.
