The registry entries are:

[cpp]Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\RunMRU]
"a"="regedit\1"
"MRUList"="a"[/cpp]

But there are other setting that could be emptying the runMRU, this may help http://windowsxp.mvps.org/runmru.htm

could also be your anti-virus!

in the end i replace the profile and it worked - but it s the easy way...
