Hello Tom's Hardware, I have 2 little questions about gaming and sound speakers 'n' cards.
First of all my specs:
Intel C2D 2.93 Ghz E7500
2 GB RAM Kingston DDR2 Motherboard Asus P5KPL-AM SE
XFX Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 1 GB Sound Card Creative Sound Blaster Live! Platinum PCI
OS Windows XP SP2 32 bits 1152*864
First: Is a Live! SB Platinum ENOUGH for gaming with some good 2.1 +1 speaker set as a Edifier X3? Or shall I change my sound card to a newer Audigy? If yes, which is the BEST AUDIGY SOUND CARD?
Second: If I have 1 PCI-E x16 slot with the GFX, 1 pci slot with the SB, and another with the Realtek ineternet card (or whatever), is there any FREE PCI-E slot for the card? (n00b question )
Also I wanted to know if that speaker set is good, specially the Subwoofer which I love!
Can't find much about the X3 online, looks like it's not made for the U.S. market. Edifier makes good budget speakers, just like the Civic Coup is great deal for a $14K car, but I wouldn't think many people consider it a good car
