Hi,

I'm looking for a new laptop for my wife. She will be using it to work in Adobe CS4; Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. Other than that maybe watching some movies, but no gaming.

I have my eyes on a Lenovo R500 with the following specs for the graphics:
- ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470
- 128 MB of video memory
- 24-bit color support
- WSXGA+

Her current laptop (MacBook) has 256 MB video memory. Is the 128 MB video memory a problem? Or is this computer capable of running CS4 without any problems?

Thanks in advance,
K.T.

Thanks for your quick reply, ct1615. Please bear with my ignorance; what does P4 mean?

Thanks,

A Google search for your thread title will return the official Adobe CS4 system requirements.

Edit: BTW, P4 = Pentium 4

Thanks for the link and thanks for explaining what P4 means.

Before posting my original post I looked at the system requirements at Adobe’s website. My problem is that I’m not sure how to interpret the spec – e.g. the part about the 16-bit video card.
