Hello, I was on my external when I tripped on the cord, it stopped working from there. At times it appears as if its going to load and may even flash as a drive and then disappears. I took the hdd out of the enclosure thinking that could be the problem but the same happens when placed in dock. Device is not being seen in device/disc manager. Operating system is vista, please help.

It was the power cord and i have tried EASUES data recovery, but the system doesn't recognize the hdd long enough to designate a drive.

Well, if it is shorting out like that you may not be able to recover it, unless you position the plugs so that it works long enough for you to get the data out.

I'm going to keep trying, i don't want to give it to a specialist but i will in another attempt to get data.
