hi everyone, i have been going back and forth in my mind about what i should do for the last couple of days now.

Im trying to decide what is better for playing my ps3 and xbox on and occasional laptop use(rare). Like anyone else it will be placed on a normal computer desk and i will most likely be sitting a normal distance away from a computer screen, i would say about 2-3 feet.

Here is the monitor im considering http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

now i dont have any exact tv in my mind yet but i have seen a couple, all being 720p and about $75 more then the monitor would be. i just want to know the positives and negatives of my situation here.

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated, thanks.

The monitor will be higher resolution, probably 1080p(1920x1080) while the TV, obviously, will be bigger. The consoles don't really use a resolution higher than 720p so I guess in your case the TV may be the better choice.

A TV is not meant to be watched 2-3 feet away.It is too close. I tried it when playing L4d and I got headaches and I have to put it at least 6-8" distance to be comfortable with it.

Yes, it will be better and more comfortable for you... If you got a keyboard drawer that allows you to pull out futher from the monitor, you can find your comfortable playing/viewing distance...
