Hello Everyone!

I am having this error occur when I try to move movie files to my external storage device.

My Specs
Dell XPS 630i (2008)
-nVidia nForce Motherboard
-Intel Core2 Quad 2.4ghz

8GB of ram (OCZ)
Ati Radeon 6850
Seagate Velociraptor 300gb
Seagate Barracuda 120gb
WD Caviar Black 600gb
Kingston 8gb SD card
WD Passport 500gb

Ok so here is the problem, I get the cannot read from source file or disk error when I try to copy a file to any external storage device. Always stops at the same point.
Only large files (100 megs or more)
Only on Fat32 formatted (must be formatted to fat32)
I can successfully copy it to other drives on the computer, but still get the same results when i try to copy to external storage.
I have ran chkdsks on all the drive and found no error.
Did a BIOS update and also a windows memory check.

I know there are alot of these Cannot read errors out there but mine seems diffrent from all the other posts.

Thanks!
Bryan

I know you said 100 megs or more, but are you really talking about big HD movies? Because FAT32 has a limitation on individual file size of 4GB, minus one byte. It is impossible to put files 4GB or larger onto a FAT32 partition.

Just a update...solved my problem, I narrowed it down to my motherboard. I did a full install of windows on a new HD and still had the same problems, bought a 8 dollar pci usb card and i can now transfer files to my external devices
