Pulled the trigger. I bought two. I was going to wait for the 4gb version coming out in a few weeks, but from what I hear that card is going to cost $1000 bucks. Added to that is the fact I would have to get a new PSU for the 2 8 pins it requires. $2,300 is just too much money. $1,400 is far more in my ballpark.

Ahh I am so nervous I had to decide fast since I was worried they would run out of stock! I really hope I made the right decision. Was waiting for the gtx 480, but that thing is way way too hot. 5970x2 is right up my alley for performance and power. I play @ 2560x1600

OK so ummm who wants my 5870?? lol or atleast dirt 2 that comes with it.... :bounce:

$2300?

You can get a quality 850watt for around $150ish, or a good 1000watt for around $200ish...and both will have more than enough PCIe connectors (usually 2x 6pin and 2x 8pin or more.

If the 5970 4GB costs $1000, the max you'll probably have to spend for GPU + new PSU is probably around $1200-$1400.

How much are you selling your 5870 for? :D
