Dual layer read problem ts-h552u

Hello,
im supposed to be able to write to dual layer discs, but when i put a blank one one it changes to a cd drive and drive is not accessable. Reads and write smaller dvd-r fine.

Did you buy + r or - r DL?

That drive only supports + R DL

Grab some + R DL and you should be fine.

Im using memorex dvd+r. Owners manual recommends MKM. Obviously brand is a big deal?
