Intel Core2 Duo SU9600 or I3 330UM For HP Tablet

Hi

I want to buy a HP touchsmart tablet. The current choice is an Intel Core2 Duo SU9600 (1.60GHz, 800MHz FSB). If I wait some time HP is coming out with a tablet that has a I3 330UM (3M cache, 1.20 GHz). Which one should I get.

Your help will be greatly appreciated.

  1. Hello zyzagy;
    It's hard to find specific benchmarks for both CPUs. But judging by the ranking over @ Notebook check the SU 9600 slots in @ #171 and the i3 330UM @ #205

    The i3 330UM will have Intel HD Graphics (or some other video card?) vs the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4550 Graphics with the SU 7300 / SU 9600. Without knowing which specific video card its hard to compare them directly or make a recommendation for you.

  2. A model on the german version of amazon has a version with an I5 430UM and ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450 but I don't know if that will be available in the US.

    Because of that my two options are I3 330UM with Graphics Media Accelerator 4500MHD or Intel Core2 Duo SU9600 with ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4550.

    The laptop will be mostly used for school work, but I would like to be able to play a few games.

    Thanks
  3. The I3 330UM should have the newer HD Graphics - it's integrated onto the CPU package.

    I think you can expect the HD 5450 to be a US option if it's already showed up in Europe.

    If you're interested in any gaming you'll want the best graphics chip you can afford.
