my son has an Acer Ferrari 4000 computer - just over 5 years old - as soon as you start it up and move the mouse it shuts down - any movement of the laptop seems to shut it down - we have pulled it apart and can find no damage such as cracks - any thoughts as to what might be the problem...thanks for any help - appreciated -wondering if it is the motherboard, why I chose this section to post

More about : shutting

Motherboard, or power cord, check that the battery is charged.

thanks but not the problem....monitor picture was pixelating - then when you used the mouse the laptop would shut down - now all we get is a black screen and info about a general protection fault - not serious - we bought another laptop - but would like to fix this one and give it to his mother
