AMD X6 1055T Fan Issues

I just got a AMD X6 1055T processor and installed it will after 1hr 30mins i checked temps and it was insanly high talking 160f turn out the fan on the CPU was not working properly due to a pieace of plastic that was stuck causing the fan to stick. I would like to know as long as everthing seems to be working fine am i safe? or do i need to go thought the hassle of returing the CPU

The system would have shut off if the critical CPU temperature had been reached, so you would be fine to keep the CPU.

High temperatures can damage the CPU, but this takes time. That amount of time you mentioned is certainly nowhere near enough time.
