Help with makeing sure my ramp will work?

i bought a pny 2gb ddr2 pc5300 667 ram chip, her computer came with four slots i am just wondering if this chip is really compatible by its self instead of 2-1gb of ram,Can anyone help me anser this question, i have read all the forums and no help on if this chip will work.If it helps its got pentium4 multi procesor, its kind of older system but it's all i can afford,ty Amy
