Will I get better performance if I go with 2 Samsung 830 series 65gb or should I stick with just one Samsung 830 series 128gb. I am a little confused here.

All opinins would be highly appreiciated.

Thanks

Go with the 128gb single ssd.

From actual experience, I went from two 80gb intel X25-M drives to a single x25-M 160gb drive, and saw no impact on performance. If anything, it was even a bit betterwith the single larger ssd.

Why...

1) I would hate to give up trim with raid-0. In time, lack of trum will impact your update performance as the drive fills up.
2) Synthetic sequential benchmarks look better with raid-0, but the benefit of a ssd is in the random i/o response time.
3) Larger ssd's have more nand chips which they can access in parallel for faster sequential speeds. Sort of an internal raid-0.
