    Hey!

To be honest you dont need a 5870 to play WoW, I see that CoD is on there, which CoD.

Im sure I can throw together a nice AMD build real quick with a 1000 dollar budget
  2. CoD MW and MW2
  3. Alright, right now Im at 1100 dollars on a premo build with a 955 and a 5850.

Thats 100 bucks over your budget. Im going to start trimming it up
  4. The 100 bucks from Windows 7 is what put us over, are you a student by any chance?
  5. No im military, not sure if there are places that do discounts for us, lol.
  6. What branch? Have you done ANY schooling? Im in the Air Force and took 1 class with Park University, and it gave me a .edu account and I got Win7 for like 30 bucks
  7. Army, when I was in the Navy I took a class with Kaplan but that was like 8yrs ago. Don't have a .edu email addy.
  8. HDD doesn't need to be huge, case doesn't need to be special although I do like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811146027
  9. Aight well, to be honest I can post the build but we're kind of at a point where you're over budget and it'll be up to you what we cut, posting the image now

See if this link to the wish list works. I made it public but...
  11. Wow that image doesnt really magnify very well. Maybe try Cntrl + + to increase the browser magnification
  12. Ahh tells me the wishlist is empty.

It's kinda messy, and if you want I can provide links to all the parts.

  15. Well it all looks good. Obviously we ran out of money for an aftermarket HSF.

If you look at that case, it only has 2x120mm fan. 1 intake, 1 exhaust.

I believe at stock levels you'll be able to function very well. But if you have any interest in OCing on air, you're going to top out very quickly on temperature.

Thats why most of us recommend Cooler Master/Antec cases, they have the best airflow for your money. Lian Li usually has better but at a much higher cost.

Like I said tho, that case is fine. I read every 3 egg and below review and all they had to say was the case color didnt match the picture (More of a copper, or muddy orange look)
  16. My guess is that case took you closer to 1000, so I can definitely say that all your internals are good, and the case is the builder/buyers personal preference.

So feel confident on buying with these specs, and enjoy!

Oh 1 more thing, are you planning on taking this build to the desert at all?
  17. Ohh no no, strictly stateside. Going to Texas for next duty station, but we'll have AC. I was looking for a burnt orange color, i'm a Long Horns fan, lol. I could go with a different case and maybe add a fan or two, this build gets me to $1002 with shipping.
  18. Just remember, that 5850 is kinda big. The best thing to do, is pick out like 7 cases you like, then only read the negative reviews.

The negative reviews tell you MUCH more than the positive. Such as airflow, color and motherboard mounting, and especially what cards had trouble fitting.
  19. I have owned a Raidmax case, and I strongly recommend against it. Now I own an Antec and love it. Unfortunately thats all the experience I can share with you :)
  20. Ok well I don't mind getting the Antec, i'll take a look at them. I forgot the HDD, lol.
  21. You can also loo at the Antec 900. It's an earlier version of what I linked.

But it doesn't have some VERY nice extras that the 902 has. Such as filters over the intake fans to prevent dust from entering. There is a space behind the motherboard for routing wires to increase airflow as well.

If these 2 things dont seem worth the price difference to you, look at an Antec 900 Case.
  22. Will this work for a case?
Antec Three Hundred Illusion Black Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811129066&cm_re=antec-_-11-129-066-_-Product
  23. Ok going with the Antec 902. Brings the price upto $1092 w/ shipping, but thats ok I just won't figure in the OS. I told my wife I was building a computer when I go home on leave. I'll "just have "Ohh yeah needed an OS." I appreciate your help.
  24. "Roomy inside for a mid tower - no problem getting a 285GTX installed."

    Sounds good for you.
  25. AWESOME! You will REALLY enjoy the 902, trust me. 1 recommendation from someone that owns a 1200 case

There are 4 screws per side of each removable HDD cage(meaning 4 on left, 4 on right)

Take out the 4 HDD thumb screws on the NON-WINDOW side. The 4 on the window side will keep the HDD cage secure. As you will be routing wires behind the motherboard tray, you really dont ever want to open up that non-windowed side again.

But you WILL need to remove the HDD cages about 2 inches forward every so often to clean your screens.

So if you only have the 4 thumb screws on the WINDOW side holding each HDD tray, it makes it alot easier to move them in and out.

If this doesnt make any sense, bookmark this page, then when you get your case and can see it, reference this again and it will make sense. Enjoy your build!
