Any difference between using 2 channel and 3 channel ram

hey guys is there reason i couldn't buy 2 dual channel memory kits and only use 3 stick to run 3 channel memory

Use whatever your board requires. If your board is amd or socket 1155/1156, then use kits with 2 or 4 kits. If your board is socket 1366, the use 3 or 6 stick kits.
