Can't get rid of "Folder View"

My grandchildren were playing with my computer and now every time I open a
folder, it show the "folder view" on the left side of the screen. I am using
Windows XP Home Edition.

I have closed the Folders View and then tried the " Folders|View|Apply to
All Folders", but this didn't help.

Any suggestions?

Open My Computer window.
Click Tools, Folder Options, then click File Types.
From the list, locate the entry FOLDER with extension of (NONE).
Click Advanced, select Open, then Set Default.
Click OK and close the dialog.
