No display upon USB contact.

Hello!

I recently downloaded several updates onto a hard drive that I have connected to a HDD docking bay that connects via USB 2.0.
I recently tried to connect it to a front USB port on my computer and to my dismay my display turns off saying "no VGA connection" and then I noticed that there was a solid (not blinking) red light on my mobo after it happens.
However my computer does not shut off.
Oddly enough, it happens even when not fully connected.
I only need make light contact with the USB port to make it happen.
I simply need to know what the problem may be and what I can do to solve it.

My board is a ASUS M4A87TD EVO 870 CROSSFIRE DDR3.

I also noticed that it only seems to be that one USB port.
There are two on my front pannel and the right one seems to be the only port with this affliction.
But after a reboot everything seems fine. My board posts and the OS boots normally.

I simply need to know what the problem may be.
I have been told it may have been due to static but its odd to only be happening to the one USB port.

Again, any and all input would be welcome.

After contacting my trusted computer tech the problem has been solved.
