I want to upgrade my P4 256mb ram nvidia 5700 LE

Everyday use, Multi-tasking (music, internet lots of tabs, downloads) and some medium level of graphic performance. Causal gaming. Not planning on playing the latest games. But still pretty powerful for handle basic CAD design, for example. Windows 7

I was trying to figure it out by myself but i was afraid that i was getting more than what i need.


Do NOT need: Hard drive, monitor

Not a great idea. First, you've got a low quality PSU, which is just asking for trouble. Second, you've got a low quality board. Third, you've got questionable RAM (OCZ is known for compatibility issues). Third, ATI cards aren't very good for CAD uses.

Do you also not need a case or optical?

CPU/GPU: X4 955 and 9800 GTX+ $249 after rebate
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-770TA-UD3 $80 after rebate
RAM: Crucial 2x2 GB 1333 mhz CAS Latency 7 $109
PSU: Antec Earthwatts 430W $60

i like it,

but i need a graphic card that have HDMI OUTPUT. That same range will be good though.


I like that CPU range you chose , ant that RAM looks pretty good as well as the PSU and the mobo

no i dont need optical or case.

Change the CPU/GPU combo to: X4 955 and 9800 GT for $212 after rebate
