You can't change the wattage of a processor. Did you check to see if your motherboard supports the processor bought?

Need more details on both CPUs and the motherboard.

The 95W and 45W are descriptions of the TDP (thermal design power or thermal design point) and have more to do with heat dissipation requirements than actual electrical requirements of the CPUs.

Agreed. What CPU, what motherboard? You need to be careful when buying a new CPU to first check that your board supports it.

AMD phenom x3 8650 cpu

It's an AM2 board and won't support anything newer than the old Athlon-64 X2 series.

By the way, why spend money on a Phenom x3 8650? It's outdated compared to the Athlon/Phenom II series.

I think we're all hoping someone gave you that x3 8650 for free when they went to upgrade to a new CPU.
Even though it's an X3 part it's roughly the same overall performance as an Athlon X2 6400+. You can read about the 2008 vintage x3 8650 in this THG article. Not one of AMD's better efforts.
Here is a comparison of the X3 8650 with the newer $75 X3 435

Wow , thank you guys so much, really ! I returned phenum cpu and got althon II X4 and a new asus motherboard +600w psu . For a cpu prise is almost the same what is like 15 $ extra ? You guys awesome .
Everything runs smooth , I just wondering why system properties doesn't recognise anything , no ram no cpu . I hope its not a problem .
