Toshiba Laptop with Win 7. 64gb SSD. 28gb used. 26gb free.

I have a 4.9gb Active Recovery Partition.

What is it?
Do I need it if I back up to a HDD using EaseUS ToDo and a docking station?

It is a system image if you need to restore your computer back to factory defaults, like the day you got.

There must have been instructions with it or a command file built in called system recovery. Cheaper than giving out DVD's with every computer they sell.

I did create a set of recovery discs. Is this partition necessary to use these discs?
