What is the fastest CPU i could in this PC? I undertsand both Q6600 and Q6700 are compatiable but was hoping that an even faster chip might work?

Just to add- would a stock Core 2 Duo cooler work fine for a Quad core or would i be looking at getting a new one of those as well ?

You can add LGA-775 processors but it depends on which form factor you have. Some models support up to 45nm quad core and some only support dual core. go on the Dell page to see that.
