Hi there; I have just built my new PC yesterday, using an Asus Rampage II Extreme motherboard. And this motherboard has recognized every component right away, the processor, memory, video card, harddrive, DVD-RW drive... etc.
And it boots just fine and I can enter the setup screen and adjust whatever I want without any problems. The only problem is if there isn't an OS disk in the DVD drive, or if windows is not already installed on the HD; it won't ask for a boot device (like my old intel motherboard). it just shows a black blank screen after the motherboard's start screen, and the only thing to is to shutdown or restart.
I need it to behave normally and ask for a valid bootable disc or HD.
And yes; the boot device order is set to: 1- Optical Drive, and 2- Harddrive.
Again my question is: If there's a bootable device (DVD-ROM/Harddrive) it will accept it, otherwise it won't ask for it at all... why is that?
