I am/was aiming to spend $1000 max for a gaming pc and I was wondering if I have any issues with compatibility or if there might be any way of making this less expensive that I might have missed.

I hate to have to ask other people for help on this but I really don't want to accidentally waste a lot of money. It's about $965 right now before shipping and handling.I already have a dvd drive and a sound card from an old computer, but if there's anything vital that I've forgotten please let me know, would kind of suck to start putting everything together and realize I'm missing a semi-costly part.

That mobo you have only uses dual channel and the RAM you selected is triple channel.

Here's a good one: G. Skill Ripjaws 2x2GB CAS 7

You can also save cash by going for a Samsung Spinpoint F3 which performs about the same if not better.

Also, why get a 4XXX series card when you can have a 5XXX card with DX11 capability? Here's a good buy with the money you saved.

XFX 5850

EDIT: Are you going to need an OS?

I was going with the 4XXX card because it seems to be good cost/performance wise and I'm thinking more short-term at the moment and I might end up using the savings to get new headphones or cables I might possibly need. Also, I already have my OS taken care of, so I'm good there. Thanks for the quick reply.
