Memory Problem?

Recently I've been getting BSOD, 0x0000000A IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL errors on my machine. My first thought was the video card due one incident of my screen changing weird colors.

Something made me want to test my memory with memtest, and it found 4 errors. Could these errors be causing the IRQL BSOD's?

Any advice is appreciated.

  1. Go into the Bios and manually set your memory timings and voltages to the manucturer's specs.
  2. I'm not really familiar with how to do this, the manuals for the motherboard might not be available (can't know since I'm at work now).

But, here is the RAM in the machine:

I'm guessing in the Bios will be setttings to just change to match this (from the newegg product page)?

    Timing 5-5-5-15
    Voltage 2.1V

    This would be the motherboard:

I also should add that this is a recently happening problem when the PC is under pretty heavy load (gaming), and the PC has been working fine since 2008 with no recent hardware changes.
  3. Another interesting observation:

Why is it reading as PC2 6400 when it should be PC2 8500? Outdated BIOS?
