I recently installed an Geforce 7600GT 256 MB DDR3 AGP 8x. The video stress test works smoothly but the game play would be really choppy and the models would have patches on it.
I'm running the card on a Pentium 4 2.53 ghertz 553.. with 1 gb of ram and a 350 watt psu.My mobo supports AGP 2x/4x.
Is there anyway I can fix the gameplay by upgrading? I'm using the recommended settings for my hardware.

Probably the best upgrade you do at the present is a full system upgrade. Athlon II CPU's and motherboards for those can be had cheap. Money spent on upgrading your old rig would be better saved for a new setup.

The issue is probably running the card at 4x speeds, and the slow P4. What resolution are you trying to play at? What settings?

I tried the lowest settings possible. I just want to play the game. I think I will just take rolli's word for it and get a new mobo with a new cpu. Any good deals?

X4 630 with a mobo for $100 is a great deal. Actually they all are. Then you would need ram and GPU, you might be able to reuse the rest of your system.
