Cd will not play on computer

I have used it before-mostly to play DVDs, but I believe I have also played a musical CD on it. I received an instructional CD about a business venture and when I put it in, I get No response. There must be a simple answer but I can't find it. Help! ccharvey@cvip.net

Have you tested the CD on another computer? If not, try it on a friend's computer to see if the problem is with the disc. If it doesn't work on another computer then the problem may be with the disc and not your computer.

Thanks for your help & suggestion. I did just that and it worked. I found out from my neighbor, I had not played the disc on the right side(I stupidly thought because there was a label on one side I shpuld play it on the other side-This was a business proposition--not a music CD.) Then when I put it back in my computer and pushed the right button for the Media Player(who's link hadn't come on before), it played just firne. I need to learn alot more about computers & the programs I have available.
