Can not connect to xbox live at a hotel?

Hello,
I am not able to connect to xbox live at my hotle, using an rj45 cable, internet works fine when pluged into my laptop, but when trying to connect to live under troubleshooting, reads cannot obtain ip address from your router or modem.... HELP

The Hotel Firewall may be the problem.

I used to support hotel networks in a past life. Short answer is lots of stuff is blocked by design and don't bother calling support as we knew Xboxs wouldn't work and generally didn't want to support it either.

Instead of wasting time trying to get it to work, I would recommend seeing whatever town you happen to be in and going out to a bar.
