APPROXIMATE PURCHASE DATE: Now BUDGET RANGE: $600-800 +/- After Rebates

SYSTEM USAGE FROM MOST TO LEAST IMPORTANT: Moderate CAD (autocad 2D/some 3D, sketchup(all 3D), turbocad, etc), Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom, MS office, internet.

PARTS NOT REQUIRED: keyboard, mouse, monitor, speakers) **Reusing Lian Li 62 case full ATX with Seasonic 600w power supply (5 yrs old), Dell 24 1920 x 1200 monitor**

PREFERRED WEBSITE(S) FOR PARTS: newegg.com COUNTRY OF ORIGIN: any

PARTS PREFERENCES:
Athlon II X4 635 http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?Ite... or
Phenom II X4 945 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

My reading suggests that the extra L3 cache won’t benefit me much, but please advise if you think the 945 will be appreciably faster. I am open to any cpu/mb alternatives within this AMD price/performance range. If there is a better combo out there for my needs, I am open to suggestions

OVERCLOCKING: Maybe, like to try SLI OR CROSSFIRE: No

Monitor Support: Need to support 2 monitors in “dualview” mode – each monitor independent of the other – (1st 1920x1200 24” Dell, 19” 2nd at 1280x1024) plus dual view (two 19” monitors) remotely in my shop via cat5e dvi extender. Question: do I need two graphic cards to this and do they have to be identical, or can I leverage on board video somehow? Will a moderately priced gaming card(s) give me what low end workstation cards will, like

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... or Quadro FX 380 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168... Quadro FX 580 512MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 Workstation Video Card

Graphics card must be 100% OpenGL 2.1 or higher compatible
Sketchup works better with Nvidia cards

MONITOR RESOLUTION: See above

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS: Please advise memory (4 gb), additional cpu cooling if needed. My current Lian-li case is not very quiet, I have three Nexus cooling fans, Zalman cpu cooler (Opteron 180 cpu), and after market video card fan – all supposed to be quiet in their own right, but case still fairly loud. Can I make current case quieter, or please recommend better quiet case. Is it wise to use my old power supply?
