No display on laptop screen

I have an IBM ThinkPad t20, and I have to use my desktop screen with svga cable to see display, will not display on laptop screen.Can anyone tell me how to fix this.

My screen was working before I reinstalled Windows XP, and I don't know what you mean by crt/lcd function button.

Ok I pressed FN+F7 and its displaying but its very fant I can hardly see it

Hey, see my previous post... Sounds like the Invertor is shot.... not the screen. You don't need to replace the screen if the invertor is bust.

The invertor converts the battery voltage into the high power voltage needed to power the backlight. It's usually a capacitor that has blown on the invertor circuit board. At £15 for a new LCD Invertor it is a cheap fix
