Ok I know this is a long shot, but does anyone know of any AM3 boards that support NVidia GPU's in SLI mode? Currently I'm running an ASUS M4N72-E based on a N-Force 750a chipset. It is coupled with a Phenom II X4 940 BE OC'd at 3.7 and 8 GB (2GB x 4) DDR2-800 memory. The GPU's are two NVidia GTX285's in SLI (board only supports 8x/8x). I'm using water-cooling for the CPU and both GPUs.

I'm desiring to move to AM3 / DDR3 with a Phenom II x4 975 or better CPU (want to OC to 4+ ghz). There seems to be severe lack of high end gaming boards that would support this solution without using hacked drivers. Does anyone know of a upper end board that will work for me, or should I wait it out and see what might come out in the next 6+ months?

Your best bet would be to look at the ASUS M4N98TD EVO and verify it supports the x4 975. Outside of that board, there are really no other x16,x16 boards with SLI (& doesn't look like there will be anymore either).

On the PCI-E lanes, I'm currently using a RocketRAID PCI-E x1 card to raid together four HDD's. Will that interfere with the x16/x16 setups or force them to throttle down to x8/x8?

No... It will have no effect on the bandwidth of the PCIe 2.0 x16 slots.
