After researching the AMD Phenom II X6 1055T Thuban, I'm really tempted into getting one. Before this, I had a $900, but the 890fx mobo and the 1055T brought my build up to $1000, something I'll be fine with. I saw that you could OC the 1055T from 2.8 to 3.8 with the stock heatsink at 1.45V or so. And I'm using a Cooler Master Hyper 212+ with the 2nd fan, to hopefully OC to right about 4.0-4.2, at a reasonable voltage.
I'll be gaming and video rendering, and photoshop.
Here's my build that I came up with:
I figured that the 5770 is fine with the games that I play(@1650x1080): COD2(NOT MW2), COD4, and CS:S. If it starts becoming low standards, I have another slot for crossfire(16x/16x).
Questions:
How far do you think I can OC the 1055T with 2 fan Hyper 212+, and 6 Case fans?
I'm on a AMD Athlon X2 3800+(2.0Ghz) AM2 socket. how much faster do you think video rendering will become(general approximation)?
CAS9 1600 or CAS7 1333? I don't know which one will be better. CAS7 1333 costs $5 more.
