Asus P8P67 PCI Simple Communications Controller missing driver

I bought an Asus P8P67 Pro, Intel 2600k CPU, all working great (though the idle of 40-45c on the stock cooler has me concerned), except ONE driver is missing...

What is the Simple Communications Controller? I tried looking it up and it seems related to network drivers, modem, or something similar. Why wasn't this installed, and can I ignore it if it's not a big deal and I can't find drivers?

Thanks!

  1. It's the Intel Management Interface. You need to install the SOL/AMT software package. Your system will work fine without it, but the remote intel management interface won't work. 99% of people never use it or even know what it does anyways.
  2. I forgot to mention where to get it. Yours is located in the "download" section at:

  3. Thnx! One problem, they don't seem to have that listed in their download section :(.

You should find it under the "Utilities" section, had the same problem with a P7H55-M.
  5. Got it, thanks!
