Canon Printer S330

When printing, I get an error message in the status box: The used ink tank is almost full.
Press the printer's RESUME button to restart printing.
Canon tech rep said The waste ink absorber full condition occurs when the printer determines that the internal waste ink tank is getting full. The waste ink tank is designed to capture ink from print head purges.
Also, this is not an end user recoverable or service condition.
How do I empty or clean the used ink tank?
