It would appear that HP only has drivers, found HERE , for Vista and Windows 7. The only other alternative you have is to see if you can figure out what type of modem it is in the computer. I've looked over the specifications for the computer and it doesn't appear to provide any specific vendor details for the computer.

HP does provide information HERE in regards to downgrading from Vista to XP.

In order to figure out what modem is installed, you can use either CPU-Z or Speccy to take the guess work out for you.

I can tell you its a Conexant PCI Soft Data Fax Modem.

They have a website, and I know that they at least used to offer a generic XP driver. Im sure there is one there.

Thanks for the link! :)

I went there and did several searches ( Generic driver, generic xp driver, generic driver for modem) and came up with nothing. :fou:
Do you have any other suggestions? I'd hate to have to go out and buy a PCI modem that can handle the XP system. :(

Falcon, Thanks for the link. I downloaded the program and install it on my PC. I tried to run the program application in the directory "HXFSETUP", but nothing happened. :fou:  Is there some other way to get the PC to recognize that modem?
