Big ram problem need help

hello~
I have a problem with my dell optiplex gx 620 mt,the problem is when i bought 2 sticks of 2gb ram and installed it on my pc it shows only 3.5 gb usable only from 4 gb ram where my 516 mb gone.MY system specs are intel pentium d 945 @ 3.4 Ghz,4 gb kingston ram,320 gb wd hdd,nvidia 9400gt 512mb.

working in 32 bits system show only 3.5,use a 64 bits system to see 4 gig

yeh same here i got 4gig of dominator 1066 and 7 takes a gig of mine, no problem tho all put to good use

That is the limitation of 32bit OSes, not a hardware issue, as scout_03 has already said.
